We have kayak racks in the park and one of the benefits of being a BPOA member is being able to store your kayak/paddleboard there. These racks provide easy access to Baynard Creek from the kayak launch attached to the floating dock. Whether you are just going out for a leisurely paddle, or trying your luck at fishing, the creek and Calibogue Sound provide a picturesque place to dip your paddle in. See the waterfront homes on Baynard Creek, travel to the Salty Dog or visit Harbour Town! Enjoy viewing the abundant shore birds along the way and you may even witness a close encounter with a dolphin or manatee! Rack berths are available to all members at no fee as space permits.
We currently have 36 rack spaces with room for two kayaks/paddleboards in each. Each neighborhood property address is entitled to one space in the rack (holding up to two kayaks). If there are extra spaces available, a second space may be requested for a nominal $25 yearly fee. All kayaks stored at the park must be registered yearly with BPOA and have a registration sticker issued. Each year, we will send out an email to current rack space holders asking for confirmation that you plan to use it again the following year (as long as you maintain your BPOA annual membership). These spaces are available to facilitate convenient launching in the creek and not intended for long term storage. If you do not intend to use the kayak, please do not take up a space that other members could use.
Anyone who is a current member and does not have a space in the rack and would like one, can submit a rack request by clicking on the button below. If no spaces are available at the time of the request, you will be placed on the waitlist. If you are within the BPOA neighborhood but not a current association member, you must join (click the 'Join Us' tab in the header) in order to request a berth in the park.
